The Wizard of Oz cast announcement

The Beck Theatre are delighted to announce the cast of our 2009 Summer Project production The Wizard of Oz.

The lead role of Dorothy will be played by 15 year old Shannon Stroud who lives in Hayes and has taken part in four previous Summer Projects. She will be joined on the yellow brick road to Oz by Jonathan Billins as the Scarecrow, Liam Steward-George as the Tinman and David Porter as the Lion. Plus Joanna Shah will be playing the Wicked Witch of the West and Auriol Hatcher is Glinda the good witch.

The roles were decided at a long day of auditions at the theatre on Sunday 15th March by a professional production team – Director John Payton, Musical Director Andy Collis and Choreographer Hayley Hills. Overall 120 young children aged between 9–19 will be taking part in the two week project in August. They will all take to the stage for five public performances from Thursday 27th – Saturday 29th August.
